Riviera Hotel and Casino (closed and demolished)

The Riviera Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip closed to the public in May 2015 after 60 years of operation. The property sat unused for about a year before being demolished by implosion on June 13, 2016. Its long vacancy between closure and demolition made it one of the most prominent recently abandoned casino properties on the Strip prior to removal. The former Riviera site was part of larger redevelopment plans for the north Strip corridor.
