Arlington Farms

Arlington Farms was a temporary housing complex established during World War II in Arlington, Virginia, to accommodate female civil servants and military personnel. Constructed between 1942 and 1943, it featured ten dormitories named after U.S. states, along with recreational facilities. The site became a vibrant community for women working in government roles, particularly those involved with the military, and was notable for its cheerful design and amenities. After the war, it continued to serve various purposes until its eventual closure and demolition in the 1960s. Today, the site is part of Arlington's historical landscape, reflecting a unique chapter in wartime history.
