Fair Park and the State Fair of Texas (Big Tex)

Fair Park hosts the annual State Fair of Texas, an event established in 1886 that takes place each fall and attracts millions of visitors. The fair's long-standing symbol, Big Tex, is a large cowboy figure that greets fairgoers at the park; the statue is widely recognized as an icon of the event. Fair Park contains numerous Art Deco buildings from the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition and is home to multiple museums and performance venues used year-round.
