Highland Hall (Columbus, Georgia)

Highland Hall is a historic house located in MidTown Columbus, Georgia, built in 1857 by the Ellis family. This Greek Revival-style raised cottage features a symmetrical layout with a large central hall and a notable two-story rear addition from 1905. The house is distinguished by its elegant pedimented front porch supported by four square-sectioned columns and adorned with a cast-iron balustrade. After changing ownership several times, it was purchased by Estelle Collins in 1905, who lived there until her death in 1978. Highland Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in architectural history and local heritage.
