Spanish Governor's Palace

The Spanish Governor's Palace, located in Downtown San Antonio, Texas, is a historic adobe structure from the Spanish Texas period and the last remnant of the 18th-century Presidio San Antonio de Béxar complex. Recognized as the most beautiful building in San Antonio by the National Geographic Society, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970. Built between 1722 and 1749, it served as the residence for local presidio captains and later Spanish governors, even functioning as the capitol of Spanish Texas in 1772. The one-story building features ten rooms, a grand courtyard, and a fountain, and is said to be haunted. It is situated near Market Square and the San Antonio River Walk, making it a must-visit for tourists and researchers alike.
