Schloss Porcia

Schloss Porcia, located in Spittal an der Drau, Austria, is a remarkable Renaissance castle known for its palazzo-style architecture designed by Italian architects. Commissioned in 1533 by Count Gabriel von Salamanca-Ortenburg, the castle was completed in 1598 but never inhabited by the count. After changing hands several times, it became a public property in 1951 and now features a museum of local history, hosts concerts, and is the venue for the annual Komödienspiele Porcia theatre festival. The castle is also famous for the legend of the White Lady, a ghost said to haunt its halls, adding an intriguing element for visitors interested in history and the supernatural.
