Astrodome - first major stadium to feature luxury suites (skyboxes)

When the Astrodome opened in 1965 in Houston, it included corporate luxury suites-often credited as the first modern stadium to incorporate skyboxes as a design and revenue feature. Those executive suites introduced a new stadium revenue model that has since been widely adopted in professional sports venues worldwide. The Astrodome's inclusion of private, premium seating influenced later stadium architecture and financing.
