Frederick Stearns Building

The Frederick Stearns Building, located at 6533 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit, Michigan, is a historic manufacturing plant recognized for its architectural significance and rich history. Established in 1855 by Frederick Stearns & Company, it became a prominent pharmaceutical manufacturer in the 19th century. Designed by architect William B. Stratton and completed in 1899, the building features a symmetrical brick façade with limestone-trimmed windows and a distinctive clock. After its conversion into condominiums in 1989, it is now known as the Lofts at Rivertown. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1981, making it an interesting destination for tourists and researchers alike.
