The C.A. Thayer is a three-masted, schooner built in 1895 that is preserved and interpreted at Hyde Street Pier as part of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. The vessel served in the West Coast lumber trade and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an example of late-19th-century commercial sailing technology. The ship has undergone major restorations and is open for public boarding and educational programs seasonally at the Hyde Street Pier museum site.
