Blue Mustang ("Blucifer")

Blue Mustang is a large blue horse sculpture by Luis Jiménez installed at Denver International Airport in 2008. The artist died in 2006 when a section of the sculpture fell on him during its fabrication; the completed work features illuminated red eyes and has attracted widespread attention and a local nickname, "Blucifer." The sculpture stands near the airport entrance and is one of the most-discussed pieces of public art in Denver due to its color, scale, and the circumstances surrounding its creation.
