Kinder House

Kinder House is a historic Gothic-style mansion located in Parnell, Auckland, built in 1857 and commissioned by Bishop George Selwyn. Once the residence of Anglican priest John Kinder, the house is constructed from local volcanic stone and has a rich history, including a tragic family story. Opened to the public as a gallery in 1982, it also hosts weddings and events. The house gained notoriety for reported hauntings, attracting paranormal investigators and featuring on a New Zealand television show.
