Highland Mall (defunct shopping mall redeveloped)

Highland Mall was a regional shopping mall on Airport Boulevard that declined in the 2000s and closed as a traditional mall; the site was sold to the City of Austin and redeveloped. Much of the original mall retail function was removed during conversion to the ACC Highland campus and mixed-use development, meaning the mall as it once existed no longer operates. The redevelopment preserved some structures while repurposing the property for education, offices, and housing.
