Greenwood (Orange, Virginia)

Greenwood is a historic home located near Orange, Virginia, built around 1820. This two-story, three-bay Federal style I-house features a distinctive side gable roof, a center-passage plan, and two exterior-end chimneys. Visitors can admire its Greek Revival style front entry porch, supported by brick piers and square paired columns. The property also includes a one-bay timber-frame wing addition from about 1850, an outbuilding, a well, and the grave of Mary Roberta Macon, who passed away at age nine in 1847. Greenwood was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, making it a notable site for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
