Allt-y-Bela

Allt-y-Bela is a historic country house located in Llangwm, Monmouthshire, Wales, with origins dating back to the late medieval period. The name translates to 'wooded slope of the wolf/marten' in Welsh. Originally owned by Roger Edwards, a wealthy merchant and founder of Usk Grammar School, the house underwent significant Renaissance-style renovations in the 17th century. After falling into ruin by the 20th century, it was restored in the early 21st century and is now a Grade II* listed building. The house features a three-storeyed parlour tower and is recognized for its architectural significance. Today, it operates as a bed and breakfast, offering visitors a chance to experience its rich history and beautiful surroundings.
