Hidden Forest Cabin

The Hidden Forest Cabin, located in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge in Clark County, Nevada, is a historic site built in 1931 by World War I veteran Clarence Russell. Initially a personal retreat, the cabin is infamous for a tragic incident in 1932 involving a fatal confrontation between Russell and another man. After years of vacancy, it became a game warden's cabin in 1938 and has since been maintained by Boy Scout troops. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, the cabin now serves as a first-come, first-served retreat for hikers, accessible only by foot, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a glimpse into its storied past.
