La Villita Historic Arts Village

La Villita is one of San Antonio's oldest neighborhoods with 18th- and 19th-century origins that was rehabilitated during the 1930s Works Progress Administration era. The district's restored adobe and stone buildings now house artist studios, galleries, and craft shops and are integrated into the River Walk's stonework and pedestrian circulation. La Villita has been managed as a cultural arts village and is a documented example of historic preservation and adaptive reuse in San Antonio's downtown.
