The Menil Collection

The Menil Collection was founded by John and Dominique de Menil and opened to the public in 1987. The institution maintains a permanent campus in the Montrose neighborhood and offers free general admission. The collection is known for its holdings of modern, Surrealist, and contemporary art and for on-site research facilities including the Menil Drawing Institute, which opened in 2018.
