Navy Hall

Navy Hall, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, is a historic site that served as the first provincial parliament of Upper Canada from 1792 to 1796. Originally built in 1765 as a naval establishment, it played a significant role during the American Revolution and later became the residence of John Graves Simcoe, the first Lieutenant-Governor. Although it was destroyed during the War of 1812, the current structure, encased in stone, dates back to the post-war reconstruction. Managed by Parks Canada, Navy Hall houses artifacts from over 200 years of history and offers outdoor interpretive displays, scenic views of the Niagara River, and proximity to Fort George. While generally closed to the public, it is available for private functions and is a key part of the Niagara National Historic Sites, making it a fascinating stop for tourists and researchers alike.
