Madam Walker Legacy Center

The Madam Walker Legacy Center was opened in 1927 as the headquarters and cultural center established by entrepreneur and philanthropist Madam C.J. Walker for African American business and community life. The building includes a historic theater and commercial space and has long served as a cultural hub for Indianapolis’s African American community. It is recognized for its association with early 20th-century Black business history and performing arts programming.
