901 New York Avenue NW is a striking Postmodern high-rise office building located in Downtown Washington, D.C., completed in 2005. Developed by Boston Properties, it was part of a revitalization effort for the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood. The building stands 140 feet tall with 11 stories and features a polished granite and precast concrete facade. Its lobby boasts a grand atrium with arched steel trusses. The site has a rich history, once home to Victorian townhomes and later a parking lot after urban decline. Notably, it housed the acclaimed Acadiana restaurant, recognized as one of the best new restaurants in the U.S. in 2006, which has since been replaced by Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. The area is now a blend of modern office space and nearby mixed-use developments, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
