Swiss Centre, London

The Swiss Centre was a notable landmark in London, located at the junction of Coventry Street and Leicester Square. Opened between 1963 and 1966, it featured a striking clock and served as a hub for Swiss culture, housing a bank, tourist office, chocolate shop, and several Swiss-themed restaurants. Designed by David Aberdeen, the 14-storey building included office and residential spaces, but its Swiss identity diminished over time, leading to its demolition in 2008. Today, remnants of its heritage, including totem columns and a restored glockenspiel, can be found in the renamed Swiss Court, while the site has been redeveloped into popular attractions like M&M's World and the W Hotel.
