Flatiron Building (Grand Forks, North Dakota)

The Flatiron Building, constructed in 1906 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, was a notable historic structure that served as office space for the Grand Forks Ice Company, a significant supplier of ice and coal in the region. Its strategic location near the Great Northern railroad facilitated its operations. The building, characterized by Early Commercial architecture with Vernacular-Gothic details, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places until it was removed in 2004 following its destruction in the 1997 Red River flood. The Lynch family, who owned the building until 1981, played a pivotal role in its history, alongside other historic wholesale buildings in the area.
