Telegraph House (Taganrog)

Telegraph House, a two-story building in Taganrog, Rostov region, was constructed in 1859 by Greek merchant Argyria Skurich. It served as the first telegraph station in Taganrog, opening in January 1860, and played a crucial role in enhancing trade communications for local merchants. The building has changed ownership several times, with notable owners including Colonel Alexander Remi and Anna Petrovna Fedorova. During the Soviet era, it was nationalized and repurposed for various uses, including a food committee during German occupation.
