New York State Education Building

The New York State Education Building, located in Albany, is a historic Beaux-Arts style structure that opened in 1912. Designed by architects Henry Hornbostel and George Carnegie Palmer, it was the first major building in the U.S. dedicated solely to education administration. The building features one of the longest colonnades in the country, with 36 Corinthian columns stretching 590 feet. It originally housed the New York State Museum and Library, which have since moved to the Cultural Education Center. The building is notable for its impressive rotunda and reading room, making it a significant architectural and historical landmark in New York.
