John Kennel Sr. Farm

The John Kennel Sr. Farm, once a historic house located near Trenton, Ohio, was recognized for its unique Amish/Mennonite architectural style before being demolished. This two-story structure featured a gable-and-hip roof, a distinctive front entryway with a transom, and an elegant interior stairway adorned with a cherry handrail. The farm also included several outbuildings such as a bank barn, a brick smokehouse, a corn crib, and an early chicken house. It served as the home of John Kennel Sr. and his wife Anna Augspurger Kennel, who were part of the Hessian Amish community that settled in the area in 1832, making it a site of cultural and historical significance for those interested in Amish heritage.
