Madam Walker Legacy Center (Madam Walker Building)

The Madam Walker Legacy Center occupies the historic Madam Walker Building at 617 Indiana Avenue, which served as headquarters and a cultural center for Madam C. J. Walker's business enterprise. Madam C. J. Walker was an Indianapolis-based entrepreneur who is often cited as one of the first American women to become a self-made millionaire; her business and philanthropic activities were centered in Indianapolis.
