Dime Savings and Trust Company

The Dime Savings and Trust Company, also known as the First Valley Bank, is a historic bank building in Allentown, Pennsylvania, built in 1925. This five-story red brick structure features Art Deco design elements, including a limestone base and a distinctive attic level. Once the fifth-largest bank in the city, it faced challenges during the Great Depression and remained vacant for years after its closure. In 2012, it was renovated and incorporated into the PPL Center project, now serving as the lobby for the Marriott Renaissance Hotel. Visitors can explore its rich history and admire the architectural details, including the monumental banking room, which has been adapted for modern use while retaining its historical significance.
