Metcalf Center for Science and Engineering

The Metcalf Center for Science and Engineering, located at Boston University, is a modern educational facility named after Arthur G.B. Metcalf, a pivotal figure in the university's engineering history. Opened in 1983, the building integrates three former industrial structures and features a striking atrium with exposed green pipes, showcasing a unique architectural style reminiscent of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Notably, the site was once home to a music venue called the Psychedelic Supermarket, where iconic bands like Cream and the Grateful Dead performed in the late 1960s.
