Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign sits outside the City of Las Vegas

The iconic "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign (erected in 1959) stands on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard at 5200 S Las Vegas Blvd. The sign is located in the unincorporated community of Paradise in Clark County, not within the municipal boundaries of the City of Las Vegas. Many visitors assume the sign is inside Las Vegas city limits because of its location on the Strip and its use of the city name.
