Avianca Building

The Avianca Building is a striking 161-meter-tall skyscraper located in Bogotá, Colombia, at the intersection of 16th street and Seventh Avenue, adjacent to Santander Park. Completed in 1969, it was the tallest international style skyscraper in South America at the time and was designed by a collaboration of renowned architects. The building features 40 floors with continuous window facades, embodying modern architectural aesthetics. Notably, it has a dramatic history, including a devastating fire in 1973 that resulted in casualties but left the structure largely intact. Today, it remains an important office space and a landmark in the city.
