Rosefield (Windsor, North Carolina)

Rosefield is a historic plantation house in Windsor, North Carolina, built between 1786 and 1791. This two-story, five-bay L-plan dwelling showcases a blend of Georgian, Federal, and Greek Revival architectural styles. Notable features include a hip roof front porch and later additions from 1855. The property also includes small outbuildings, an office, a dairy, and a family cemetery. Named for the wild roses that once grew on the site, Rosefield was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
