Fort Lily

Fort Lily, located in Betong, Sarawak, Malaysia, is the oldest fort in the region, built in 1858 by James Brooke, the first Rajah of Sarawak. Originally established as a defense center against Iban warriors, it served various roles including a police station and government offices. The fort is constructed entirely of belian timber and features a distinctive belian shingle roof. Plans are underway to transform it into a museum showcasing the cultural artifacts of the Iban people, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in Sarawak's history and heritage.
