Academy of Music - oldest continuously operating opera house in the U.S.

The Academy of Music opened in 1857 and is widely recognized as the oldest continuously operating opera house in the United States. The Victorian‑era theater has hosted opera, concerts, and ballet for more than 160 years and remains an active performance venue. It serves as a home for Opera Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Ballet and is an architectural landmark on Broad Street.
