Fyfe Building

The Fyfe Building, located at 10 West Adams Street in Downtown Detroit, is a historic high-rise constructed between 1916 and 1919 in the Gothic Revival style. Standing 14 floors tall with 65 residential units, it was originally named after Richard H. Fyfe, a prominent shoe merchant. Once home to the largest shoe store in the country, the building now features residential spaces along with retail and a bar at street level. Its preservation is notable, as it was nearly demolished in the 1990s to accommodate parking for Comerica Park, making it a significant landmark in the area.
