Palais Bretzenheim

The Palais Bretzenheim is a significant historical building in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, constructed between 1781 and 1788 by architect Peter Anton von Verschaffelt. Located near the University of Mannheim, it originally served as a residence for the children of Charles Theodore, Elector of Bavaria, and famously hosted Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart during his time teaching the elector's children. The building features an impressive façade with 21 windows and three floors, including a distinctive bulged center with a balcony. Today, it houses parts of the district court Mannheim, making it a blend of historical significance and modern utility.
