Thomas W. Swinney House

The Thomas W. Swinney House, also known as The Swinney Homestead, is a historic site in Fort Wayne, Indiana, built between 1844 and 1845. This unique 1+1⁄2-story brick and limestone structure was later expanded with a Late Victorian style wing around 1885 and features an Eastlake movement front porch. Constructed by pioneer settler Thomas J. Swinney, the house reflects the rich history of the area and its development. In 1922, the property was donated to the city, contributing to the establishment of Swinney Park. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and is part of the Fort Wayne Park and Boulevard System Historic District, making it a significant attraction for both tourists and researchers interested in local history.
