Hotel Bristol (Copenhagen)

Hotel Bristol, located on City Hall Square in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a historic building originally constructed as a hotel between 1901 and 1902. Designed by architect Vilhelm Fischer, it features a striking three-wing structure made of red brick with a distinctive 50-meter tower topped with a copper roof. The hotel closed in 1917 due to bankruptcy after a fire and later served as the headquarters for an insurance company and a newspaper. Notably, it was linked to Leon Trotsky, who used it as an alibi during his 1936 Show Trial, and it was the site of the tragic death of Danish actor Valdemar Psilander. Today, the building stands as a testament to Copenhagen's architectural history and its intriguing past.
