Anchor Brewing's Potrero Hill brewery

Anchor Brewing Company operated a long-running production facility and public brewery at 1705 Mariposa Street in the Potrero Hill area, where Anchor Steam Beer was brewed and bottled for decades. Fritz Maytag purchased and revitalized the company in 1965, helping to spark the modern American craft brewing movement, and the brewery at this address was central to that history.
