Klaus Block

The Klaus Block is a historic building located in downtown Lima, Ohio, built in 1870 in a Victorian Gothic Revival style. This three-story structure features decorative elements like brick corbelling and stone trim. Over the years, it has housed various businesses, including a butcher shop and a speakeasy during Prohibition, with a pharmacy consistently operating in its front corner. The building reflects Lima's growth during the railroad expansion of the 1870s and was recognized for its architectural significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, as part of the Lima Multiple Resource Area.
