The Book Tower, a historic 38-story skyscraper at the north end of Detroit’s Washington Boulevard, dates to the 1920s and was long vacant before recent redevelopment efforts. Photographs of its ornate, deteriorated interior and exterior were widely circulated by urban-exploration photographers and architecture blogs, contributing to its internet visibility.
