Andrew–Ryan House

The Andrew–Ryan House, located in Dubuque, Iowa, is a stunning example of Second Empire architecture, renowned as one of the finest in the state. Designed by architect Fridolin J. Herr Sr., this historic two-story brick house features a distinctive mansard roof, arched windows, and classical moldings. Originally built further north, it was relocated to its current site between 1885 and 1890, during which time porches were likely added. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and is part of the Jackson Park Historic District, making it a significant attraction for both tourists and researchers interested in architectural history.
