Built in 1886, it served as the residence and office for the state's first agricultural experiment station, showcasing a blend of Gothic Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne architectural styles. Notable features include a cross-gable roof and intricate sawnwork on the porch and gables. After the station closed in 1926, the cottage continued to be used as a residence. It was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
