Murder of Joe 'Crazy Joe' Gallo - Umberto's Clam House

On April 7, 1972, Colombo family associate Joe 'Crazy Joe' Gallo was shot at Umberto's Clam House while dining at a table in the restaurant. Gallo was taken to a nearby hospital and subsequently died of his wounds; the killing was widely reported and became a notable event in New York organized crime history.
