Madison Seminary

Madison Seminary, located in Madison, Ohio, is a historic building with a rich past, having served as a school, hospital, and a home for families of Civil War casualties. Established in 1846, it initially operated as Madison High School before transitioning to a seminary. The current red brick structure was completed in 1857, and the seminary closed in 1881 due to declining enrollment. It later became a home for Civil War nurses and their families until financial difficulties led to its donation to the state. Today, it is recognized as one of Ohio's most haunted locations, attracting tourists and ghost hunters alike, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
