Saints Peter and Paul Church and DiMaggio–Monroe photos

Saints Peter and Paul Church at 666 Filbert Street is a landmark Catholic church in North Beach known for its twin spires and role in the neighborhood's Italian-American community. After Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe were married at San Francisco City Hall in 1954, they posed for wedding photographs on the church's steps, an image repeatedly cited in local histories and popular accounts. The church remains an active parish and a frequent stop on North Beach historical walks.
