St. Matthew's Cathedral (Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle)

St. Matthew's Cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. The cathedral hosts major archdiocesan liturgies such as ordinations, the Chrism Mass, and state funeral services. The current Romanesque Revival building dates from the late 19th century and functions as an active parish with daily Mass and sacramental rites.
