Josiah Kilgore House

The Josiah Kilgore House, also known as the Kilgore-Lewis House, is a historic home in Greenville, South Carolina, built around 1838. This two-story, L-shaped dwelling showcases vernacular Palladian architecture and features a distinctive pedimented portico and a rear wing with a three-bay porch. To preserve its historical significance, the house was relocated to McPherson Park, where it now serves as the headquarters for the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the house, its beautiful arboretum, and gardens. The Kilgore-Lewis House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers alike.
