Southport Promenade Hospital

Southport Promenade Hospital is a historic Grade II listed building located on The Promenade in Southport, England. Originally established in 1806 by the Southport Strangers Charity, it evolved from a dispensary to a convalescent hospital by 1862, serving thousands of patients annually and functioning as a military hospital during the world wars. After joining the National Health Service in 1948, it specialized in treating acute medical conditions until its closure in 1990. The building has since been transformed into luxury apartments known as Marine Gate Mansions, offering a glimpse into Victorian architecture and the rich history of healthcare in the region.
