Merrion Hall

Merrion Hall, originally a Plymouth Brethren church completed in 1863, is a historic building located near Merrion Square in Dublin, Ireland. Designed by Alfred Gresham Jones, it was the largest gospel hall of its kind, accommodating thousands of worshippers. After serving the Plymouth Brethren until the late 1980s, the building was repurposed into the Davenport Hotel following a fire in 1991, with its striking Italianate façade preserved. The site has cultural significance, having appeared in James Joyce's 'Ulysses' and served as a filming location for the movie 'Hear My Song.' Today, it stands as a blend of historical architecture and modern hospitality, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
