Bowles Hall

Bowles Hall is a historic coed residential college at the University of California, Berkeley, renowned for its unique traditions and vibrant community. Opened in 1929 and designed in the Collegiate Gothic style, it was the first state-owned residence hall in California. Originally a male-only facility, it underwent a significant restoration and reopened in 2016 to welcome female students. The hall features eight levels of accommodations, a library, and a rich history of notable alumni, including U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta.
